Qur'an as a Reminder

Quran is a reminder, they won't remember except if Allah wills

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم 

Al-Muddaththir 74:54

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌ 

No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder

Al-Muddaththir 74:55

فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ 

Then whoever wills will remember it.

Al-Muddaththir 74:56

وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ 

And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.

Heaven and Earth Joined Entity

 Aaoodhoo billahe minashaitan rajeem 

 Al-Anbiya 21:30

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَٰهُمَاۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ 

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

I am amazed by this ayah. I never noticed that heavens and earth were a joined entity and Allah separated them and that's a blessing for us as well. And i never knew night was first and then day came Subhan Allah. And with separation of earth and heavens came rain from sky and vegetation from earth. It strengthens my belief that Allah doesn't do anything without purpose and whatever He does is for our benefit. May Allah make us appreciate His wisdom and May Allah make us appreciate the wisdom in His ayahs and May Allah make us grateful. Ameen.

 Sufyan Ath-Thawri narrated from his father from Ikrimah that Ibn Abbas was asked; 

"Did the night come first or the day?"

He said,

"Do you think that when the heavens and the earth were joined together, there was anything between them except darkness! Thus you may know that the night came before the day.

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Ibn Umar said that;

a man came to him and questioned him about when the heavens and earth were joined together then they were parted.

He said, "Go to that old man (Sheikh) and ask him, then come and tell me what he says to you."

So he went to Ibn Abbas and asked him. Ibn Abbas said:

"Yes, the heavens were joined together and it did not rain, and the earth was joined together and nothing grew. When living beings were created to populate the earth, rain came forth from the heavens and vegetation came forth from the earth."

The man went back to Ibn Umar and told him what had been said.

Ibn Umar said, "Now I know that Ibn Abbas has been given knowledge of the Qur'an. He has spoken the truth, and this is how it was."

Ibn Umar said:"I did not like the daring attitude of Ibn Abbas in his Tafsir of the Qur'an, but now I know that he has been given knowledge of the Qur'an.

Don't Dispute

Aaoodhoo billahe minashaitan rajeem 

Al-Anfal 8:46

وَأَطِيعُوا ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ‌و وَلَا تَنَٰزَعُوا فَتَفْشَلُوا وَتَذْهَبَ رِيحُكُمْۖ وَٱصْبِرُوٓاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ 

And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart; and be patient.  Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

This ayah reminds me not to dispute because dispute results in losing courage. While being patient will give me advantage that Allah will be with me. That should be my greatest comfort that Allah is with me.  Alhamdolillah

A Criterion

Aaoodhoo billahe minashaitan rajeem

Al-Anfal 8:29

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا إِن تَتَّقُوا ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّكُمْ فُرْقَانًا وَيُكَفِّرْ عَنكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ 

O you who have believed, if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

It happens to me that I don't understand what is right or wrong. This ayah reminds me to fear Allah. If I fear Him, He will grant me a criteria. And remove my evil from me and forgive me. But fearing Him in its true right also becomes difficult. At least this ayah reminds me to make an effort to be fearful. And I experienced Allah does provide me a criteria if I make an effort to be fearful. Alhamdolillah

Help from Allah

Aaoodhoo billahe minashaitan rajeem 

Aal-e-Imran 3:160

إِن يَنصُرْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْۖ وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۧۗ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ 

If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely.

This reminds to seek help only from Allah. And to fear Allah forsaking us. Oh Allah help us trust You alone. Ameen.

Whispers of Satan

Aaoodhoo billahe minashaitan rajeem 

Ta Ha 20:120

فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ قَالَ يَٰٓئَادَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ ٱلْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَّا يَبْلَىٰ 

Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?"

But Satan whispers me and distracts me in immortal life or I start to believe I will live forever and he distracts me to attain kingdom or authority on whoever we can attain. And I loose my basic purpose. And I forget that immortal life belongs to Allah alone and kingdom also belongs to Allah alone.

May Allah save us from whispers of Satan and help us do which pleases our Creator. Ameen.

Pleasure of Allah

Aaoodhoo billahe minashaitan rajeem 

Maryam 19:96

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا 

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds -  the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.

Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Jibrail (Gabriel) saying: Allah loves so-and-so; O Jibrail (Gabriel) love him.' Jibrail (Gabriel) would love him, and then Jibrail (Gabriel) would make an announcement among the residents of the heavens, 'Allah loves so-and-so, therefore, you should love him also.' So, all the residents of the heavens would love him and then he is granted the pleasure of the people of the earth."

Subhan Allah. May we attain pleasure of Allah. Ameen. If I know one person hates me how can be I assured that Allah loves me because if Allah loves me, He will make everybody love me.

Satan promised he will mislead us

Do you believe Satan the devil exists? Hard to believe right? Do you know what promise he made with Allah?Remind yourself Satan’s promise by reading this Quran verse.

اعوذ بالله من الشيطن الرجيم

 Al-Hijr (الحجر) / 15:39

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all

قَالَ He said,  -  رَبِّ "My Lord!  -  بِمَا Because  -  أَغْوَيْتَنِي You misled me,  -  لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ surely, I will make (evil) fair-seeming  -  لَهُمْ to them  -  فِي in  -  الْأَرْضِ the earth  -  وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ and I will mislead them  -  أَجْمَعِينَ all  -

My reflection after reading this Quran verse

Whenever I read this verse I make an intention that I will fight with my enemy and yet I forget or get distracted.

Satan made a resolution and he is continuously working on it and I make a resolution to save myself from his plan and I fail to. What a pity!

Why ? because he adorns the sins and I am misled by his beautification of the sins. How? For every mistake I do, I come up with a reason to justify. Oh Allah save me and all Muslims from satans planning. Oh Allah help us see the sins as sins. Oh Allah help us be firm on our resolutions. Ameen.

Parable of stages of this life

Quran verse about life of the world

اعوذ بالله من الشيطن الرجيم

 Al-Hadid (الحديد) / 57:20

ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَزِينَةٌ وَتَفَاخُرٌۢ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌ فِى ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ ٱلْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَٰمًا وَفِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ

Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.

اعْلَمُوا Know  -  أَنَّمَا that  -  الْحَيَوةُ the life  -  الدُّنْيَا (of) the world  -  لَعِبٌ (is) play  -  وَلَهْوٌ and amusement  -  وَزِينَةٌ and adornment  -  وَتَفَاخُرٌ and boasting  -  بَيْنَكُمْ among you  -  وَتَكَاثُرٌ and competition in increase  -  فِي of  -  الْأَمْوَالِ the wealth  -  وَالْأَوْلَادِ and the children,  -  كَمَثَلِ like (the) example  -  غَيْثٍ (of) a rain,  -  أَعْجَبَ pleases  -  الْكُفَّارَ the tillers  -  نَبَاتُهُ its growth;  -  ثُمَّ then  -  يَهِيجُ it dries  -  فَتَرَاهُ and you see it  -  مُصْفَرًّا turning yellow;  -  ثُمَّ then  -  يَكُونُ becomes  -  حُطَامًا debris.  -  وَفِي And in  -  الْءَاخِرَةِ the Hereafter  -  عَذَابٌ (is) a punishment  -  شَدِيدٌ severe  -  وَمَغْفِرَةٌ and forgiveness  -  مِنَ from  -  اللَّهِ Allah  -  وَرِضْوَانٌ and Pleasure.  -  وَمَا But not  -  الْحَيَوةُ (is) the life  -  الدُّنْيَا (of) the world  -  إِلَّا except  -  مَتَاعُ (the) enjoyment  -  الْغُرُورِ (of) delusion.  -

My reflections after reading this Quran verse

What a beautiful parable!
سبحان الله

When a baby is born, he gets amused with toys.  When he turns teens, he gets distracted so much. Then he reaches an age when self adornment becomes most important. Then the family life begins and then it is boasting and competition in increase in wealth and children basically in accomplishment of children. And then heading to old age of weakness and decline and finally death.

Same thing happens to plants. Rain makes the plants green and beautiful. And then we see it dry and yellow and then becomes debris.

This cycle of human life and plant life is repeated again and again. Oh Allah help us learn from this parable. Ameen.

I believe that this life is an enjoyment of delusion and yet it is so easy to become part of this delusion.

But in the end of this ayah Allah just put two options. Either it is severe punishment or forgiveness.

I can't opt for severe punishment. I need to opt for forgiveness. Oh Allah help us race in seeking forgiveness. Oh Allah we are weak. We get deluded. Oh Allah please save us from this delusion. Oh Allah help us gain the maximum advantage of our resources including our remain ing time in this world. Oh Allah we dont deserve jannah but grant us jannah out of Your Mercy.

Ameen.

Recompense

Assalam o alaekum

I am sharing an ayah that inspired me today. I seek Forgiveness, mercy, help and guidance from Allah سبحان و تعالى

اعوذ بالله من الشيطن الرجيم

 Yaseen (يس) / 36:54

فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

So today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do.

فَالْيَوْمَ So this Day  -  لَا not  -  تُظْلَمُ will be wronged  -  نَفْسٌ a soul  -  شَيْئًا (in) anything  -  وَلَا and not  -  تُجْزَوْنَ you will be recompensed  -  إِلَّا except  -  مَا (for) what  -  كُنْتُمْ you used (to)  -  تَعْمَلُونَ do.  -

This ayah gives me hope as well as fear. It gives me hope because I am looking forward for a day when nobody will be wronged and everybody will be dealt with justice.

Last part of this ayah makes me fear because everybody will be recompensed based on what they used to do. So for example one person is striving for the highest level of jannah everyday and the other is not striving how can that other person expect same level in jannah. It also motivates me to strive hard as it is a promise from My Lord that everybody will be recompensed what they used to do.

Oh Allah help us attain the highest level in jannah. Amen.

Radiant face

Assalamoalaekum

I am sharing an ayah that inspired me today. I seek Allah's mercy, guidance, forgiveness and help.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

Al-Qiyamah 75:22

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ

[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant,


______

I love radiant faces. Everybody does. Women especially. Just check out how much money cosmetic industry is making to sell creams for a radiant skin for face.

And those creams don't work most of the time. SubhanAllah.

I came to the conclusion radiance comes from inside. It doesn't matter what the skin color is. Some people just radiate.

Oh Allah make our face radiate that day. And make us able to look at You that day. Ameen.

Fear and knowledge

Assalamoalaekum

I am sharing an ayah that inspired me today. I seek Allah's mercy, guidance, forgiveness and help. Ameen

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

 Faatir (فاطر) / 35:28

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱلدَّوَآبِّ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى ٱللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ٱلْعُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ غَفُورٌ

And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving.

وَمِنَ And among  -  النَّاسِ men  -  وَالدَّوَابِّ and moving creatures  -  وَالْأَنْعَامِ and the cattle  -  مُخْتَلِفٌ (are) various  -  أَلْوَانُهُ [their] colors  -  كَذَلِكَ likewise.  -  إِنَّمَا Only  -  يَخْشَى fear  -  اللَّهَ Allah  -  مِنْ among  -  عِبَادِهِ His slaves  -  الْعُلَمَؤُا those who have knowledge.  -  إِنَّ Indeed,  -  اللَّهَ Allah  -  عَزِيزٌ (is) All-Mighty,  -  غَفُورٌ Oft-Forgiving.  -

Only those fear Allah, who have knowledge. I like to have knowledge but it is scary if it is making me feel high. How can I feel high and yet I do feel high after learning something new. Oh Allah make me humble. Oh Allah I want to fear You but I want to increase my knowledge too but knowledge doesn't make me humble. Oh Allah I have no strength no power. Oh Allah increase my knowledge but make me humble. Oh Allah make me remember that all knowledge comes from You. Oh Allah make me remember that only those fear You are those who have knowledge. Oh Allah make me fear You.

Oppression and great corruption

Assalamoalaekum

I am sharing an ayah that inspired me today. I seek forgiveness, mercy, guidance and help from Allah سبحان و تعالى

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

 Al-Anfaal (الأنفال) / 8:73

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا تَفْعَلُوهُ تَكُن فِتْنَةٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ كَبِيرٌ

And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. If you do not do so, there will be fitnah on earth and great corruption.

وَالَّذِينَ And those who  -  كَفَرُوا disbelieve,  -  بَعْضُهُمْ some of them  -  أَوْلِيَاءُ (are) allies  -  بَعْضٍ (to) another.  -  إِلَّا If not  -  تَفْعَلُوهُ you do it,  -  تَكُنْ (there) will be  -  فِتْنَةٌ oppression  -  فِي in  -  الْأَرْضِ the earth  -  وَفَسَادٌ and corruption  -  كَبِيرٌ great.  -

I witness oppression and corruption everywhere and I always wondered from where it began and until when will it continue. Answer is here. Oppression  and corruption happened because believers didn't become protectors of other believers while in disbelievers, some are protectors of others.

Why can't I become protector of every believer? Because I have a doubt about their belief? But who am I to judge anybody? I need to protect everybody and it needs to begin in a household and then a community, then a city, a country and so on. If I don't make an effort on myself, then I cannot complain about oppression and great corruption.

Oh Allah make us united. Ameen. Oh Allah help us protect the believers. Ameen.

Hasten to seek forgiveness and garden

Assalamoalaekum

I would like to share the ayahs which has helped me today to regain my focus again alhamdolillah. I seek forgivess, guidance and help from Allah سبحان و تعالى

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

 Aal-i-Imraan (آل عمران) / 3:133

وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous

وَسَارِعُوا And hasten  -  إِلَى to  -  مَغْفِرَةٍ forgiveness  -  مِنْ from  -  رَبِّكُمْ your Lord  -  وَجَنَّةٍ and a Garden -  -  عَرْضُهَا its width  -  السَّمَاوَاتُ (is like that of) the heavens  -  وَالْأَرْضُ and the earth  -  أُعِدَّتْ prepared  -  لِلْمُتَّقِينَ for the pious.  -

On a daily basis I hasten in so many things and yet this ayah is a reminder, what I need to hasten. And that is seeking forgiveness and garden that is as wide as heavens and earth.
Because if I am really forgiven and I get this wide garden then I have gotten everything.

But Allah سبحان و تعالى mentioned this garden is prepared for the pious. And Allah سبحان و تعالى also mentioned the characteristics of these pious ones in next two ayahs.

 Aal-i-Imraan (آل عمران) / 3:134 to 3:135

ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good;

وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.

So these pious ones have following characteristics

1. They spend in cause of Allah in ease and hardship
2. They restrain anger
3. They pardon people.
4. When they commit immorality or wrong themselves, they remember Allah and seek forgivess
5. They don't persist in what they have done while they know.

I need to check myself on daily basis if I have these characteristics. Because gardens are prepared for those who have these five characteristics.

Restraining anger is one of them. One practical tip to know if I can restrain my anger is to ask somebody who is weaker than me. Pardoning people is also one of them and is hard. One motivation  for me in Pardoning people that I need Pardoning from Allah and Allah pardons if we pardon each other. Also I think I have hunted so many that I need Pardoning from others as well so why shouldn't my heart be soften to pardon others. I wrong myself every single day and then regret but instead of regretting, more important thing is to remember Allah and seek His forgivess. And the last one is not persisting on wrong. Many times it happens that i get reminded by Quran or by righteous people. That's the time to get humble and stop persisting on my ways and seek guidance and help of Allah to mend my ways. But ego comes in.

Oh Allah help us hasten in seeking forgivess and garden. Ameen. Oh Allah give us taqwa. Ameen. Oh Allah grant us jannah that is prepared for the righteous. Oh Allah help us control our anger. Oh Allah help us spend in ease and hardship. Oh Allah help us pardon others. Oh Allah help us see our mistakes and help us no persist on them. Ameen.

Assalamoalaekum

 Al-Baqara (البقرة) / 2:151

كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيكُمْ رَسُولًا مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيكُمْ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْلَمُونَ

Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know.

كَمَا As  -  أَرْسَلْنَا We sent  -  فِيكُمْ among you  -  رَسُولًا a Messenger  -  مِنْكُمْ from you  -  يَتْلُوا (who) recites  -  عَلَيْكُمْ to you  -  ءَايَاتِنَا Our verses  -  وَيُزَكِّيكُمْ and purifies you  -  وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ and teaches you  -  الْكِتَابَ the Book  -  وَالْحِكْمَةَ and the wisdom  -  وَيُعَلِّمُكُمْ and teaches you  -  مَا what  -  لَمْ not  -  تَكُونُوا you were  -  تَعْلَمُونَ knowing.  -

This ayah reminds me what Prophet Muhammad pbuh used to do. And it gives me an idea that I should have these things in my life in some way to keep my iman intact.

Prophet Muhammad pbuh used to

1. Recite the book
2. Purifies his companions
3. Teaches them book and wisdom.

I personally have experienced that when book is recited on me, it has an impact on me alhamdolillah and this impact is different from what I get when I recite the book myself.
Then the Prophet pbuh used to purify his companions. I feel the necessity of this because i  can't purify myself on my own. I relate this to washing of a cloth. A cloth can't get clean by itself. It needs a second ingredient to be washed and sometimes we need color enhancer as well. So to purify our souls, we need some activity on ourselves as well. I want to remind myself that I need to make an active effort on daily basis to purify myself. This might include reading about the seerah and about the companions. And third is that the Prophet pbuh used to teach them the book and wisdom and we should also make sure that we are taught book and the wisdom on daily basis. If I am missing anyone of these 3 tasks, I am going to miss a lot.

I also want to share Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام made duaa for a Prophet who repent it's the book, teach the book and wisdom and purify in ayah 129 of same Soorah and Allah heard that duaa.
That means Ibrahim عليه السلام knew what we needed and we got such a Prophet. Alhamdolillah.
I feel that in Ramadan my iman boosts because I get a chance to hear the recitation alhamdolillah, I get to hear short lessons for purification of soul and I also get the teaching of Quran and wisdom. On regular days, I feel I need to get them on daily basis inshaAllah.


Oh Allah give us the opportunity that Quran is recited to us on daily basis. Ameen. Oh Allah give us the guides who purify ourselves. Ameen. Oh Allah give us somebody who teach us the book and the wisdom on daily basis. Ameen.

You will not be asked what they used to do

Assalamoalaekum

I would like to share an that inspired me today. I seek forgiveness and guidance and help from Allah سبحان و تعالى

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

 Al-Baqara (البقرة) / 2:134

تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

That was a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.

تِلْكَ This  -  أُمَّةٌ (was) a community  -  قَدْ (which)  -  خَلَتْ has passed away,  -  لَهَا for it  -  مَا what  -  كَسَبَتْ it earned  -  وَلَكُمْ and for you  -  مَا what  -  كَسَبْتُمْ you have earned.  -  وَلَا And not  -  تُسْءَلُونَ you will be asked  -  عَمَّا about what  -  كَانُوا they used to  -  يَعْمَلُونَ do.  -

This ayah inspires me because it makes me accountable for everything I do. This ayah appears right after the mention of Ibrahim عليه السلام And Yaqub عليه السلام and after the mention of giving of will to his sons. And mashaAllah his sons said they will worship one Allah after him.

If I am honest I am influenced by people around me, sometimes positively and sometimes negatively. And my thoughts go here and there being inspired by some, frustrated by some, wondered about some.

I am inspired by some when they are doing good deeds which I am not doing. I am frustrated by some because they cause hinderance in my work sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. I am wondering about some because I keep telling them something according to my understanding but they don't seem to understand or may be I don't see them absorbing it.

But sometimes these inspirations, frustrations and wondering take me nowhere. Because if I keep getting inspired by good people and don't take an action myself then what's the benefit.
If I keep getting frustrated by those who hinder my work then again my loss and if I keep wondering about those who don't seem to understand what I say then again my loss.

This ayah reminds me I am responsible for my own action. It reminds me good people have passed and will keep passing. For me is what I earn and for them is what they earned. And I won't be questioned about they used to do.

An exactly same ayah appears in Soorah AL Baqarah 141.

That one reminds me again, I shouldn't worry about people who seem to hinder and seem to be unresponsive to my calls. For me is what I earn and for them is what they earn. My job is convey in best possible manner.

May Allah make me beneficial for all His creations. Ameen. Oh Allah give us the ability to be grateful for the favors You bestowed upon us and our parents and help us do something that pleases You and add us with Your mercy with the righteous people. Ameen.

Knowledge of the book

Assalamoalaekum

I am sharing two ayahs that inspired me today.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

 Allah SWT says:

قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقُومَ مِنْ مَّقَامِكَ  ۖ  وَإِنِّى عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِىٌّ أَمِينٌ
"A powerful one from among the jinn said, I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."
(QS. An-Naml 27: Verse 39)

 Allah SWT says:

قَالَ الَّذِى عِنْدَهُ ۥ  عِلْمٌ مِّنَ الْكِتٰبِ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ  ۚ  فَلَمَّا رَءَاهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِنْدَهُ ۥ  قَالَ هٰذَا مِنْ فَضْلِ رَبِّى لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓ ءَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ  ۖ  وَمَنْ شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ  ۖ  وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّى غَنِىٌّ كَرِيمٌ
"Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you. And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."
(QS. An-Naml 27: Verse 40)

First ayah mentions that a powerful jinn mentioned about his strength to do the task of bringing the throne.

Second ayah mentions about the knowledge of the book that other jinn had who offered to bring the throne even more quickly.

I am amazed by the fact that knowledge of the book played a bigger role in achieving tasks in more proficient way as compared to being strong. SubhanAllah.

I ask Allah to give us strength as well. But I ask Allah to give us the knowledge of the book so that we apply it in best possible manner.

Oh Allah give us beneficial knowledge. Ameen.

Prayer during war

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

وَإِذَا كُنْتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ الصَّلَاةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَإِذَا سَجَدُوا فَلْيَكُونُوا مِنْ وَرَائِكُمْ وَلْتَأْتِ طَائِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا فَلْيُصَلُّوا مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ ۗ وَدَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ تَغْفُلُونَ عَنْ أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ مَيْلَةً وَاحِدَةً ۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنْ كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًى مِنْ مَطَرٍ أَوْ كُنْتُمْ مَرْضَىٰ أَنْ تَضَعُوا أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ ۖ وَخُذُوا حِذْرَكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُهِينًا

And when you are among them and keep up the prayer for them, let
a party of them stand up with you, and let them take their arms; then when they have prostrated themselves let them go to your rear, and let another party who have not prayed come forward and pray with you, and let them take their precautions and their arms; (for) those who disbelieve desire that you may be careless of your arms and your luggage, so that they may then turn upon you with a sudden united attack, and there is no blame on you, if you are annoyed with rain or if you are sick, that you lay down your arms, and take your precautions; surely Allah has prepared a disgraceful chastisement for the unbelievers. (Surah An-Nisa',4:102)

وَإِذَا And when - كُنتَ you are - فِيهِمْ among them - فَأَقَمْتَ and you lead - لَهُمُ for them - ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ the prayer, - فَلْتَقُمْ then let stand - طَآئِفَةٌ a group - مِّنْهُم of them - مَّعَكَ with you - وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟ and let them - أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ their arms. - فَإِذَا Then when - سَجَدُوا۟ they have prostrated, - فَلْيَكُونُوا۟ then let them be - مِن behind you - وَرَآئِكُمْ behind you - وَلْتَأْتِ and let come (forward) - طَآئِفَةٌ a group - - أُخْرَىٰ other, - لَمْ (which has) not - يُصَلُّوا۟ prayed, - فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟ and let them - مَعَكَ with you - وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟ and let them - حِذْرَهُمْ their precautions - وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ and their arms. - وَدَّ Wished - ٱلَّذِينَ those who - كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved - لَوْ if - تَغْفُلُونَ you neglect - عَنْ [about] - أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ your arms - وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ and your baggage - فَيَمِيلُونَ so (that) they (can) assault - عَلَيْكُم [upon] you - مَّيْلَةً (in) a single attack. - وَٰحِدَةً (in) a single attack. - وَلَا But (there is) no - جُنَاحَ blame - عَلَيْكُمْ upon you - إِن if - كَانَ was - بِكُمْ with you - أَذًى any trouble - مِّن (because) of - مَّطَرٍ rain - أَوْ or - كُنتُم you are - مَّرْضَىٰٓ sick - أَن that - تَضَعُوٓا۟ you lay down - أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ your arms, - وَخُذُوا۟ but take - حِذْرَكُمْ your precautions. - إِنَّ Indeed, - ٱللَّهَ Allah - أَعَدَّ has prepared - لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ for the disbelievers - عَذَابًا a punishment - مُّهِينًا humiliating. -

Do good to others as Allah did good to you

Assalamoalaekum

I am sharing an ayah below which inspired me today. I pray that Allah give us all the opportunity to do good. Ameen.

وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ ۖ وَلَا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَلَا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
And seek by means of what Allah has given you the future abode, and do not neglect your portion of this world, and do good (to others) as Allah has done good to you, and do not seek to make mischief in the land, surely Allah does not love the mischief-makers.
(Surah Al-Qasas,28:77)

وَٱبْتَغِ But seek,  -  فِيمَآ through what  -  ءَاتَىٰكَ Allah has given you,  -  ٱللَّهُ Allah has given you,  -  ٱلدَّارَ the home  -  ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ (of) the Hereafter,  -  وَلَا and (do) not  -  تَنسَ forget  -  نَصِيبَكَ your share  -  مِنَ of  -  ٱلدُّنْيَا the world.  -  وَأَحْسِن And do good  -  كَمَآ as  -  أَحْسَنَ Allah has been good  -  ٱللَّهُ Allah has been good  -  إِلَيْكَ to you.  -  وَلَا And (do) not  -  تَبْغِ seek  -  ٱلْفَسَادَ corruption  -  فِى in  -  ٱلْأَرْضِ the
earth.  -  إِنَّ Indeed,  -  ٱللَّهَ Allah  -  لَا (does) not  -  يُحِبُّ love  -  ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ the corrupters.\"  -

This ayah is long with an emphasis on what we should do. But I got stuck on

 وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ

And do good as Allah has done good to you.

Although this ayah was directed towards Qaroon who was blessed with a lot of wealth. But I can't just pass this ayah thinking this doesn't apply to me because I am not given as much wealth as Qaroon.


I am given a lot. Alhamdolillah.

I want to make a habit for my everyday to assign some moments to just think about what I am given. But it's hard. I take for granted so many things. But if I remember how much good Allah has done to me then I will be able to do good to His creation. It is like trying to pay Him back. I can never pay Him back. It's said said we cannot pay our mothers back even if I take her to hajj and make her do hajj on my shoulders. Allah's love is 70 times more than a mother's  love.

I want to remind myself "Do good to others as Allah has been good to you." In order to do good to others I need to recall what good Allah has done to me.  I just want to list here what is coming to my mind right now about what good Allah has done to me.

1. Allah promised me to forgive my mistakes if I seek forgiveness alhamdolillah. Then I should be lenient enough to forgive people.
2. Allah has put a veil on many of my shortcomings so others can't see it alhamdolillah then I should put a veil on people's flaws as well.
3. Allah has given me wealth and strength alhamdolillah then I should make use of these to do good to others.
4. Allah has given me food alhamdolillah then I should share with others.
5. Allah has given me a brain to think alhamdolillah then I should be grateful for this to Allah and try to use it to help others.
6. Allah has given me the ability to write this alhamdolillah then I should help others as well to find their abilities. Allah has blessed each one of us with something. 
7. Allah has given me family alhamdolillah then I should be grateful to each of the family member and show my gratitude to them.
8. Allah has been so generous to me by blessing me so much despite of my negligence towards my duties. Then I should be generous to His creation as well.

I want to remind myself to make this duaa of Prophet Sulaiman عليه السلام

 رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ
My Lord! grant me that I should be grateful for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I should do good such as Thou art pleased with, and make me enter, by Thy mercy, into Thy servants, the good ones.
(Surah An-Naml,27:19)

Strengthening of empty heart

Assalamoalaekum

I am sharing an ayah that inspired me today.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

وَأَصْبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَارِغًا ۖ إِنْ كَادَتْ لَتُبْدِي بِهِ لَوْلَا أَنْ رَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قَلْبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And the heart of Musa´s mother was free (from anxiety) she would have almost disclosed it had We not strengthened her heart so that she might be of the believers.
(Surah Al-Qasas,28:10)

وَأَصْبَحَ And became  -  فُؤَادُ (the) heart  -  أُمِّ (of the) mother  -  مُوسَىٰ (of) Musa  -  فَٰرِغًا empty.  -  إِن That,  -  كَادَتْ she was near  -  لَتُبْدِى (to) disclosing  -  بِهِۦ about him,  -  لَوْلَآ if not  -  أَن that  -  رَّبَطْنَا We strengthened  -  عَلَىٰ [over]  -  قَلْبِهَا her heart,  -  لِتَكُونَ so that she would be  -  مِنَ of  -  ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the believers.  -

When I first read, that heart of Musa عليه السلام was free or empty, I didn't understand. On further investigation, I found out her heart was getting empty or free from every thought other than Musa عليه السلام.

It is hard to imagine loosing a child. Loosing a baby is beyond imagining. And she had to put her baby son in river. What an amazing servant of Allah was she! SubhanAllah. But she was a human. And it's natural for a human heart to be overwhelmed with thoughts. And that's what was happening with her. No other thought except of Musa عليه السلام was coming to her mind. And she was about to disclose her secret. But Allah strengthened her heart. Our problems or concerns are not at all comparable to what mother of Musa عليه السلام went through.

This ayah is an inspiration for me for the moments when I act in a certain way and then get overwhelmed by the thoughts of one thing and it makes my heart empty of all other thoughts. There is a reminder in this ayah that only Allah can strengthen our hearts. My job is to ask Allah to strengthen my heart in all these moments. May Allah strengthen the hearts of all of us. Ameen. This ayah is also a reminder that a strong heart is a sign of believer. May Allah help us all in obeying Him, serving Him thankfully and patiently. Ameen.
