Heaven and Earth Joined Entity

 Aaoodhoo billahe minashaitan rajeem 

 Al-Anbiya 21:30

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَٰهُمَاۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ حَىٍّۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ 

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

I am amazed by this ayah. I never noticed that heavens and earth were a joined entity and Allah separated them and that's a blessing for us as well. And i never knew night was first and then day came Subhan Allah. And with separation of earth and heavens came rain from sky and vegetation from earth. It strengthens my belief that Allah doesn't do anything without purpose and whatever He does is for our benefit. May Allah make us appreciate His wisdom and May Allah make us appreciate the wisdom in His ayahs and May Allah make us grateful. Ameen.

 Sufyan Ath-Thawri narrated from his father from Ikrimah that Ibn Abbas was asked; 

"Did the night come first or the day?"

He said,

"Do you think that when the heavens and the earth were joined together, there was anything between them except darkness! Thus you may know that the night came before the day.

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Ibn Umar said that;

a man came to him and questioned him about when the heavens and earth were joined together then they were parted.

He said, "Go to that old man (Sheikh) and ask him, then come and tell me what he says to you."

So he went to Ibn Abbas and asked him. Ibn Abbas said:

"Yes, the heavens were joined together and it did not rain, and the earth was joined together and nothing grew. When living beings were created to populate the earth, rain came forth from the heavens and vegetation came forth from the earth."

The man went back to Ibn Umar and told him what had been said.

Ibn Umar said, "Now I know that Ibn Abbas has been given knowledge of the Qur'an. He has spoken the truth, and this is how it was."

Ibn Umar said:"I did not like the daring attitude of Ibn Abbas in his Tafsir of the Qur'an, but now I know that he has been given knowledge of the Qur'an.

Earth as a sign

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

Assalamoalaekum السلام عليكم

I am sharing an ayah here that inspired me today. If it is of any benefit then all praise to Allah. All the shortcoming are due to me. Oh Allah help us see Your signs and help us believe. Ameen.

Surah Ash-Shuara, Verse 7:
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ

Do they not see the earth, how many of every noble kind We have caused to grow in it?

 Surah Ash-Shuara, Verse 8:
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

Most surely there is a sign in that, but most of them will not believe.

This ayah is for those who are looking for signs of Allah. SubhanAllah I walk on earth everyday and yet when Allah said, about every noble kind He caused to grow, I couldnt think beyond plants and greenries.

I read from Tafsir Ibn Kathir that people are also product of earth. Many noble human beings have passed away. All came from Earth. SubhanAllah. May Allah make us of the noble kind. Ameen.

Then I notice that every fruit and vegetables we eat came from Earth. More and more i think, more and more convinced that raw material of everything we need basically came from earth. The car I drive, gas came from earth. The bed I am sitting, wood came from tree which came from Earth.

Gold came from earth, silvers came from earth. Jewels come from earth. Food for every kind of creature come from Earth.

Some parts of earth has mud which has healing.

But Allah mentioned about every noble kind that He caused to grow in it. It's reminder for myself to notice earth as a sign and become of good instead of bad kind.

Also Allah said "We caused to grow". It humbles me alhamdolillah and reminds me that Allah caused to grow everything I am using day to day life. It is not my ability to even stay at a place where Allah caused to grow every noble kind.

May Allah help us benefit from every noble kind He caused to grow and may Allah help us appreciate Him for that. Ameen.
