Surah 19. Maryam, Verse 12:
Translation:
(It was said to his son): "O Yahya (John)! Hold fast the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)]." And We gave him wisdom while yet a child.
Surah 19. Maryam, Verse 13:
Translation:
And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous,
Surah 19. Maryam, Verse 14:
Translation:
And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents).
Not only Zakarriyah's (peace be on him ) prayer was answered but he was granted a son who had wisdom since childhood. What a great quality! Also Yahya (peace be on him) was granted a quality to be sympathetic along with being righteous. He was dutiful to his parents, not arrogant neither disobedient. Zakariyyah Asa asked for a child with whom Allah is pleased. And Allah granted him a son with all these qualities. Subhan Allah!
