Surah 19. Maryam, Verse 3:
Translation:
When he called out his Lord (Allah) a call in secret,
Surah 19. Maryam, Verse 4:
Translation:
Saying: "My Lord! Indeed my bones have grown feeble, and grey hair has spread on my head, And I have never been unblest in my invocation to You, O my Lord!
Surah 19. Maryam, Verse 5:
Translation:
"And Verily! I fear my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So give me from Yourself an heir,
Surah 19. Maryam, Verse 6:
Translation:
"Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of Ya'qub (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not the wealth, etc.). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-pleased!".
First of all his call was secret. First thing he mentioned was his weakness to have a child and then he admitted that he is never in blest after making duaa. Subhan Allah. How can Allah not listen to Zakariyyah's when he mentioned his weakness already and showed his gratitude already by saying he is never unblessed. Then he mentioned why he needed an heir. And he also mentioned to make offspring in a way that Allah is pleased. Allah o Akbar. Allah is teaching us a way to call Him.
