Assalamoalaekum
I am sharing an ayah here and my reflection on it. If it is of any benefit then all praise to Allah. All the shortcomings are due to me. Oh Allah please guide us to the straight path. Path of those who You favored. Not of those on Your anger is and not of those who went astray. Ameen.

Surah An-Noor, Verse 55:
Allah has promised to those of you who believe and do good that He will most certainly make them rulers in the earth as He made rulers those before them, and that He will most certainly establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them, and that He will most certainly, after their fear, give them security in exchange; they shall serve Me, not associating aught with Me; and whoever is ungrateful after this, these it is who are the. transgressors.
____________
First of all I am grateful that Allah gave me the chance to recite and reflect following ayah today. I feel it came right in time. Too much chaos is going on everywhere. Reading the news especially cnn gives me headache these days. Too much insecurity and fear. More and more i think about, i reach to the conclusion is that mainly power struggle is going on everywhere. Everybody fighting for power. Rulers are corrupt. Some blame the rulers and come out to protest against the rulers. Nobody (including me on the top of the list) takes the responsibility on themselves. If my ruler is corrupt, it is by will of Allah and I need to understand my responsibility.
Ayah 55 is telling responsibilities of those who are not rulers or not happy with rulers. Allah promises those who believe and did good deeds. What is that promise? Allah promised that He will certainly make them rulers and would certainly establish their religion and certainly would give them security after fear. SubhanAllah. Allah promised everything, a man needs in these days. Security after fear. That is what everybody needs whether a Muslim or non muslim.
So what is my responsibility? Seems so easy. Just believe and do good deeds. But it's not that easy. And there are two more condition in ayah 55. Which are to be His slave alone and associate no partner with Him.
So there are basically 4 conditions to get the rulers of our choice.
1. Believe
2. Do good deeds
3. Be His slave
4. Associate no partner with Him.
Seems like I am doing all 4 of these. How can i be so sure?Allah Knows the best. But if I am really sure that I am doing all 4 of these then I should be sure that Allah will make those rulers who believe and do good deeds and His religion will be established inshaAllah because Allah is true to fulfill His promise.
Problem lies in me. May be I don't believe correctly. May be deeds I am doing thinking they are good are not good in Allah's sight. May be I am claiming I am His slave but not doing slavery to Him alone. May be I am associating partner with Him not even realizing.
Oh Allah help us believe, do good deeds. Oh Allah help us become Your slave and help us not to associate partner with You. Ameen.

Satan coming from front, behind, left and right and gratefulness
Assalamoalaekum
I am sharing an ayah that inspired me today. I seek forgiveness, mercy, guidance and help from

Surah Al-Araf, Verse 17
َThen I will certainly come to them from before them and from behind them, and from their right-hand side and from their left-hand side; and You will not find most of them grateful.

This is what satan said when he was expelled from paradise. He said he will come from before us, behind us, from our right and from our left.
Checking on tafsir, I found "coming from before" means raising doubts about hereafter. "Coming from behind" means making us more eager for this life. "Coming from right" means causing confusion in religion. "Coming from left" means luring us to commit sins.
SubhanAllah. How intelligent satan was and how dumb can I be if I don't protect myself from the dangers of Satan.
I will just take one example. I decide to do charity. Satan can tell me there is time in hereafter coming from before me. Satan can tell me I need money for myself coming from behind making me eager for my life in this world. Satan can tell me I am doing show off or I want to become known as generous, coming from right. Just suppose I am successful in doing the charity by help of Allah. Satan can still destroy all my good deeds by making me display of my charity and by reminder of generosity to the person, I gave charity to.
SubhanAllah I feel I am attacked by satan all day and many times, I waste my deeds. I have no idea, how heavy or light my scales are right now. And yet I have a illusion that my scales must have something. But who knows... Sometimes I feel I have lot of time. But when I become little conscious I feel like where did I spent all my time, not earning enough for my eternal life. Then life seems too short and I am at a loss to decide which deed will give me the best output. One reminder from this ayah is that I need to be grateful, no matter what.
There is a Hadith that encourages seeking refuge with Allah from the lures of Shaytan from all directions. Imam Ahmad narrated that `Abdullah bin `Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah used to often recite this supplication in the morning and when the night falls,
(O Allah! I ask You for well-being in this life and the Hereafter. O Allah! I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, life, family and wealth. O Allah! Cover my errors and reassure me in times of difficulty. O Allah! Protect me from before me, from behind me, from my right, from my left and from above me. I seek refuge with Your greatness from being killed from below me.)
