Language of birds

Assalamoalaekum

I am sharing an ayah that inspired me today.

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَانُ دَاوُودَ ۖ وَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنْطِقَ الطَّيْرِ وَأُوتِينَا مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْمُبِينُ
And Sulaiman was Dawood´s heir, and he said: O men! we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given all things; most surely this is manifest grace.
(Surah An-Naml,27:16)

وَوَرِثَ And inherited  -  سُلَيْمَٰنُ Sulaiman  -  دَاوُۥدَ Dawood.  -  وَقَالَ And he said,  -  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا \"O  -  ٱلنَّاسُ people!  -  عُلِّمْنَا We have been taught  -  مَنطِقَ (the) language  -  ٱلطَّيْرِ (of) the birds,  -  وَأُوتِينَا and we have been  -  مِن from  -  كُلِّ every  -  شَىْءٍ thing.  -  إِنَّ Indeed,  -  هَٰذَا this  -  لَهُوَ surely, it  -  ٱلْفَضْلُ (is) the favor  -  ٱلْمُبِينُ evident.\"  -

Every once in a while I am amazed by birds. In this age of technology I hardly get time to go outside to look at birds. But when I hear them early in the morning I know I missed the time of tahajjud. I wonder how do they wake up every morning so early and do tasbeeh. I wonder what do they say in tasbeeh.

I wonder what do they talk. Every once in a while when I am driving I see a large flock of birds sitting in line on the wires up on the traffic light as if they are having a meeting. I wonder what do they talk in their meeting. Their meetings are quite right than ours.

When i see a flock of birds in the sky in a line, I wish to ask their leader how do they communicate.

Sulaiman عليه السلام was taught language of birds and he mentioned it was a clear bounty.

SubhanAllah.

I realize the advantages of knowing multiple languages. We can communicate with humanity better if we know each other languages. We have a better chance to learn from each other. And on top of that if we know the language of birds, that's truly an obvious bounty.

Only Sulaiman عليه السلام was given this power and he used it so wisely. SubhanAllah

What do we expect of a هد هد a woodpecker? And a wood pecker brought the news of Queen of Saba. And Sulaiman عليه السلام was able to interpret that news. SubhanAllah. And Allah gave him this power. Allah is Great. الله أكبر

Allah doesn't change a favor until people change what is within themselves

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

ذٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلٰى قَوْمٍ حَتّٰى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ۙ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
[QS. Al-Anfaal: Verse 53]


What a great reminder! ALLAH O AKBAR الله اكبر. Allah favored me so much alhamdolillah by providing me everything I need and want. And yet sometimes it feels like Allah is taking back a favor He granted. If that taking back makes me sad, then that is a red flag for me. I need to check did Allah took that favor back because something in my heart changed. SUBHAN ALLAH سبحان الله.  what a great verification criteria Allah gave us to check our hearts. Nobody can do this for us. I believe one of the greatest favor of Allah is to be grateful. But if I have this sad feeling after Allah took a favor back then that is not gratefulness. And how can I be not grateful if I checked my heart already and nothing changed there and yet Allah took that favor back then that means it is written in my Qadr , my destiny. And I am sad on Allah took His favor but not on knowing something in my heart changed then that means I am a great looser now. But if I am grateful in any case and really reminding myself that Allah is free from every imperfection, then that's a win win scenario and that also proves that nothing in my heart changed. And Allah knows the best. May Allah forgive me and guide me if I misunderstood or misinterpreted anything. Ameen. Also I remind myself to keep asking Allah for favors and keep asking Allah not to take His favors back by making this duaa.


اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ وَ فُجَائَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ وَجَمِيْعِ سَخَطِكَ

O Allah! I seek refuge in You from a decline in Your bounties, and a change of state of well-being, a sudden onset of Your punishment and (from) all Your wrath.

اے ﷲ! بے شک میں تیری عطا کردہ نعمتوں کے زوال سے ، تیری عطا کردہ عافیت کے بدل جانے سے، تیری سزا کے اچانک وارِد ہو جانے سے اور تیری ہر قسم کی ناراضگی سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں۔

Don't be divided and remember Allah's favor on you

اعوذ بالله من الشيطن الرجيم

Surah 3. Aal-e-Imran, Verse 103:

وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

Translation:

And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Quran), and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah's Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islamic Faith), and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be guided.
