Assalamoalaekum
I am sharing an ayah below that inspired me today. If it is of any benefit then all praise to Allah. All the shortcoming are due to me. Oh Allah guide us, forgive us and have mercy on us. Ameen.
______________
Surah An-Noor, Verse 61:
There is no blame on the blind man, nor is there blame on the lame, nor is there blame on the sick, nor on yourselves that you eat from your houses, or your fathers' houses or your mothers' houses, or your brothers' houses, or your sisters' houses, or your paternal uncles' houses, or your paternal aunts' houses, or your maternal uncles' houses, or your maternal aunts' houses, or what you possess the keys of, or your friends' (houses). It is no sin in you that you eat together or separately. So when you enter houses, greet your people with a salutation from Allah, blessed (and) goodly; thus does Allah make clear to you the communications that you may understand.
____________
Whenever I used to read this ayah, I always used to wonder why did Allah mention that there is no sin in eating with blind, lame, sick or eating in the houses of relatives or houses. Since my childhood, I found that there is no sin in such things, then why Allah mentioned especially for these things that there is no sin. So I found out that people were so conscious at the time of revelation about others that they used to think they cannot do justice with others while taking food because a blind, lame or sick cannot take food easily due to their disabilities or weakness. So they thought it will be a sin to eat with them. Also people at that time thought that eating at relatives or friends house is violating Allah's command in Soorah An Nisa ayah 29,
Oh those who believe, don't eat among you with falsehood.
Also people at that won't eat until they find somebody to eat with no matter how long they need to wait.
All praise to Allah that He lightened the weight on us by specifically mentioning that there is no sin in such situations. Although there is more Barakah in eating together as find in hadith but there is no sin in eating alone. SubhanAllah alhamdolillah Allah Akbar.
Also we are reminded in this ayah again to greet people when we enter a house as this is salutation from Allah, goodly and blessed. Alhamdolillah.
