I am trying to share following ayah and my reflection below. If it is of any benefit then all praise to Allah. Otherwise I am seeking forgiveness and guidance for all of us.
_______________
Surah Al-Anbiya, Verse 96:
Until when Gog and Magog are let loose and they shall break forth from every elevated place.
_______________
I have been hearing the stories of يأجوج مأجوج and دجال from my childhood and yet I get them mixed up all the time. So I read it again today and I am just rewriting for reminder. So from my understanding Dajjal will come first somewhere near Syria and will call people to his way and will cause the sky to rain and make dead alive. He will travel like wind and he will remain for forty days of which one day will be like one year, one day will be like a month and one be like a week. Allah will then send Esa عليه السلام to fight with him. Esa عليه السلام will be able to kill Dajjal. And then Allah will tell Esa عليه السلام that there are enemies who nobody is able to fight. And then يأجوج مأجوج will be left open. And they will break forth from every elevated place. And they will drink all the water from rivers. Then Esa عليه السلام and his companions will make dua to Allah. And then Allah will send insects who will attack on the necks of يأجوج مأجوج and that way they will be killed.
Why this ayah inspires me? I am grateful that يأجوج مأجوج are locked up right now. It is scary to visualize how they will start appearing from every elevated place while I know from Soorah AL Kahaf that these people were spreading corruption already. I am also grateful because if يأجوج مأجوج have not appeared yet that means we have enough water alhamdolillah knowing that we cannot survive without water.
This ayah also reminds me to take refuge from fitnah of Dajjal with following duaa of Prophet Muhammad
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of Hell-fire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah.
Ref:Al-Bukhari 2/102, Muslim 1/412.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the False Messiah, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from sin and from debt.
Ref:Al-Bukhari 1/202, Muslim 1/412.
This Ayah also reminds me to recite Soorah AL Kahaf every Friday and memorize it at my earliest.
