To those who believe...

I am sharing some ayah below which inspired me to work on myself. If it is beneficial then all praise to Allah. If not , I seek forgiveness and guidance for all of us.

Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 77:

O you who believe! bow down and prostrate yourselves and serve your Lord, and do good that you may succeed.

 Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 78:

And strive hard in (the way of) Allah, (such) a striving as is due to Him; He has chosen you and has not laid upon you an hardship in religion; the faith of your father Ibrahim; He named you Muslims before and in this, that the Apostle may be a bearer of witness to you, and you may be bearers of witness to the people; therefore keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and hold fast by Allah; He is your Guardian; how excellent the Guardian and how excellent the Helper!

_______

These ayahs are addressed to those who believe and I desire to be one of those who believe so i stopped to reflect on these to remind myself about the orders Allah gave for those who believe and the orders are:

1. Bow down
2. Prostrate
3. Do good
4. Strive hard in way of Allah with a striving that is due to Him

OK I find #4 to be the hardest because it adds the condition "a striving that is due to Him". Do I really strive hard in keeping the relationships, in enjoining each other in truth and patience, in giving sadaqah, in keeping peace?

And after giving the orders, Allah سبحان و تعالى gives the reasons

1. He has chosen you
2. He has not laid upon you any hardship in religion
3. Messenger be a bearer of witness on you
4. You be a bearer of witness to the people

Again I stopped at #4. Am I capable enough to become a bearer of witness to people?

I don't think so. Then how? Next part is the answer.

1. Pray
2. Give Zakah
3. Hold firmly to Allah

Why?

So to fulfill all the orders I need to strengthen my belief in Allah being best مولى Maula and best Helper.  Maula is usually translated as protecting friend or guardian.
