أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
I am trying to share an ayah and my reflection on it because it inspired me today. If it is of any benefit then all praise to Allah. I seek forgivess and guidance for all of us.
___________
Surah Al-Mumenoon, Verse 99:
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ
Until when death overtakes one of them, he says: Send me back, my Lord, send me back;
___________
I am wondering what will be my mental and physical situation at the time of my death. Death is a scary reality for me right now. But I want to reach a position inshaAllah where I don't fear death anymore. I need to prepare myself for death. This ayah helps me visualize death. What I am going to say at that time? Am I going to say "send me back"? No no I don't want to say that. But how? How should I prepare myself that I would have no desire to back at the time of death. Who would say "send me back"? I believe if I have certain goals that I plan to meet before my death, then I would desire I need to go back to complete those goals. Or may be I might be scared of punishment, so I might want to go back to fix my condition. Or may be I am not ready to face the reality after death.
I pray that Allah make me and all of us prepared before hand. And I pray none of us get into the need to say "send me back". Ameen.
Oh Allah help us die with abrars ابرار righteous ones. Ameen.
Here is the collection of Quran verses that are life savers. These Ayah inspire me and motivate me to keep going. These ayahs brighten my perspective. They give me strength and hope and contentment. I hope and pray they will benefit you as well.
Send me back?
