If you don't get permission to enter a house not yours
Assalamoalaekum السلام عليكم
I am sharing an ayah and my reflection on it which inspired me today. If it is of any benefit then all praise to Allah. Oh Allah guide us, forgive us and have mercy on us. Ameen.
أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

Surah An-Noor, Verse 28:
But if you do not find any one therein, then do not enter them until permission is given to you; and if it is said to you: Go back, then go back; this is purer for you; and Allah is Cognizant of what you do.

This ayah is connected to the last. So we are going to a house that is not ours. Then we have to take permission before entering. What if we called the person already before I visit , to confirm if he or she is home? Do I still have to take permission before entering? Yes I have to. What if that person already left the door open for me? Do I still have to take permission? Yes I still have to. And if I don't get the answer after 3 times, I have to return. Do I feel disrespected if that person doesn't open the door while I called earlier? Yes I might. But I still have to follow Allah's commands. There is wisdom there. It saves the privacy of a home. Now these days video conferencing is very common. And anybody can enter our home without permission and we can enter anyone's home without permission. For example if I am video conferencing with my best friend or relative, I might get into a situation where somebody else is available on video camera on my friend or relative side, which I might not be seeing and still they are seeing my home without permission.
And it is possible on my side as well that my family start seeing their home which they are not supposed to.
May Allah help us. Ameen.
