اعوذ بالله من الشيطن الرجيم
Surah 64. At-Taghabun, Verse 15:
إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Translation:
Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise).
My 10 year old was reciting this ayah and trying to understand its meaning and she didn't like when I told her that Allah said your children are only a trial. It is easy to consider Bad tempered, sick or disabled children as trial for parents. But how can the good children be trial? Don't they become a trial if we spend all our resources wealth and time to keep them happy sometimes neglecting our obligations?
ReplyDeleteDon't they become our trial when they are obedient, healthy, educated, well mannered, God conscious, generous, handsome and beautiful and we take credit for every good in them instead of giving Allah any credit? Don't they become our trial when we spend most of our time talking about them?
