Quran verse about conferring a favor

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

Al-Muddaththir 74:6

وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ

And do not confer favor to acquire more.

My reflections after reading this Quran verse

What a great advise!

How sincere would that favor be when there is no expectation in return!

Suppose I do a favor and I am expecting a return in terms of speech or action, then am I desiring to acquire more?

But why i want to acquire more after doing a favor? Lack of patience.

One more reason might be that I thought I did favor with my ability without realising that Allah favored me that ability.

Oh Allah help us favor others without the desire to acquire more. Ameen.
